1. Who is responsible for your personal data?
TaxComply Ireland is the trading name used for this service. The data controller is TaxComply Ireland. You can contact us at support@taxcomply.ie.
2. What personal data we collect
Enquiry forms may collect your name, email address, optional phone/company details, the service you are interested in and a short message.
The calculators do not create a TaxComply account or a persistent taxpayer profile. Longer review forms can use temporary browser session storage so that a refresh does not immediately erase your work. Information is transmitted to TaxComply only when you actively submit a form. For fixed-price paid services, submitted case information may be held temporarily in private server-side storage while payment is pending so that the case can be matched to the payment and released to the TaxComply adviser only after successful payment is confirmed.
3. Health and other sensitive information
A personal tax review can involve medical or dental expense claims. We do not need your medical history or diagnosis. Please provide only the minimum evidence needed for the tax claim and redact clinical information that is not relevant. If processing health information is genuinely necessary, we will identify the purpose and, where required, obtain an appropriate explicit consent before processing it.
4. Why we use personal data and our legal bases
5. If you do not provide information
You do not have to submit an enquiry or review. However, some information is necessary for us to assess or perform a requested service. If required information is missing, we may be unable to provide the calculation or review, or we may need to ask follow-up questions before proceeding.
6. Who receives personal data?
We use service providers to operate the site, communicate with customers and process payments. The current production architecture may involve Vercel for website hosting/infrastructure, Resend as our transactional email provider, Microsoft 365 for the TaxComply support mailbox and correspondence, and Revolut Merchant services for secure hosted checkout, transaction processing, payment status and refunds. Google Analytics is used only if a production analytics ID is configured and you have consented. Providers process data under their own contractual and security arrangements. We do not sell personal data.
We may also disclose information where required by law, to establish or defend legal claims, or to professional advisers where reasonably necessary. We do not disclose your information to Revenue or DSP merely because you use a calculator or submit an enquiry. Any authority-facing action would require a separately agreed service and appropriate authority.
7. International transfers
Some technology providers may process data outside Ireland or the European Economic Area. Where a restricted transfer occurs, we expect the relevant provider to rely on a lawful transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards. The exact processing locations can depend on the provider and service configuration.
8. How long we keep information
These are default retention rules, not a promise to keep every item for the full period. We apply the GDPR storage-limitation principle and may delete information earlier when it is no longer needed.
9. Security
We use proportionate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data, including access controls, HTTPS in production, restricted server-side credentials and managed hosting/email providers. No internet or email system is risk-free. Do not email account passwords, Revenue login details or information that has not been requested for your case.
10. Your data-protection rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw consent without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. To exercise a right, contact support@taxcomply.ie. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
You can also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission ↗.
11. Automated calculations
TaxComply calculators apply deterministic tax logic to information entered. They do not make a decision about you that itself produces legal or similarly significant effects. A calculator result is not a Revenue assessment or approval.
12. Children
The public service is not directed at children. If a parent, guardian or other authorised person needs to provide information concerning a minor for a legitimate tax matter, only the minimum relevant information should be provided.
13. Cookies and analytics
Our use of cookies and browser storage is explained in the Cookie Policy. Optional analytics are off until you consent, and your preference can be changed at any time using Cookie preferences in the footer.
14. Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when our processing changes, including before introducing accounts, document-upload infrastructure, advertising technology or materially different service providers.
